The Science Bowl is a fast-paced academic competition that offers teams of high school students from across the state of Tennessee a chance to match their wits in math and science. The winner of the Tennessee Science Bowl will advance to the National Science Bowl® in Washington, D.C., all expenses paid!
Outcomes of Program:
Gain knowledge in STEM fields through practice and preparation for event.
Opportunity to demonstrate STEM knowledge and apply problem solving skills.
Students should form a team of 4 or 5 players who specialize in different STEM fields and find a teacher to serve as their coach. Coaches can register the team in early October at the DOE website. Coaches and students must fill out and submit all required paperwork by the deadline in December.
Two days of competition. Successful teams organize practice once per week leading up to competition.
TSB is thrilled to be a FREE activity. There is no registration fee and lodging, dinner on Friday, and lunch on Saturday are provided. Travel reimbursement is available for teams traveling further than 60 miles.

1st place - $1,000 for school to spend on STEM, individual medals, team trophy, all-expense paid trip to Washington, D.C. to participate in the National Science Bowl.
2nd place – $750 for school to spend on STEM and team trophy
3rd place – $500 for school to spend on STEM and team trophy
4th place – $250 for school to spend on STEM and team trophy
Civility Award - $100 for school to spend on STEM and team trophy
All participants will receive a goodie bag and t-shirt.
