Owning/Managing Organization: Millard Oakley STEM Center at Tennessee Tech University
The STEMmobile is a 53' tractor-trailer with self-contained power, its own HVAC system, a 4G LTE uplink for internet connectivity, and adjustable-height workstations for twenty-four students. This classroom on wheels is stocked with equipment from Tennessee Tech University’s Oakley STEM Center and includes iPads and/or laptops, hand-held data collection devices, and other standard STEM instructional materials. Additionally, teachers may borrow additional STEM materials and classroom kits for STEM modules to be on hand for classes to begin on-board through the vast inventory of the STEM Center’s Lending Library to supplement the equipping of the STEMmobile.
Outcomes of Program:
The STEMmobile is a mobile learning laboratory that provides a unique, on-site educational experience for Kindergarten through twelfth grade school students. This mobile classroom brings much-needed technology to the doorsteps of schools, and the students have access to state-of-the-art equipment to help them to learn about STEM topics in creative and hands-on ways.

Most Lessons are designed for 45-60 minutes. Some are 25-30 minutes in length. Most can be adapted to a block schedule with use of extensions.
$2,000 per week to rent the STEMmobile within a 100 mile radius of TN Tech University. Costs may vary depending upon a further distance.
The STEMmobile is rented by the school as a supplement for regular instruction and can be used by everyone.
