Describe the Activity:
It’s an online science competition, open to students between the ages of 13 and 18 from around the world. The competition is closed for now, but you can learn more about our finalists and winners by signing-up for our Science Fair newsletter by going to: https://services.google.com/fb/forms/sciencefairen/.
Check back to the Google Science Fair website when the dates for the 2017/2018 competition are released.
Students ages 13 to 18 are eligible to submit a science project.
We’re extremely lucky to partner with LEGO Education, National Geographic, Scientific American and Virgin Galactic to offer some unbelievable awards.
The projects that have attempted to solve engineering challenges will be eligible to win the Virgin Galactic Pioneer Award or the LEGO®Education Builder Award.
The projects that offer a new way to look at the world, asking questions and answering them with experimentation will be eligible to win the National Geographic Explorer Award or Scientific American Innovator Award.
The 16 global finalists, along with a parent or guardian, will travel to Google headquarters in Mountain View, CA to present their project to the judges and compete for the awards listed above.
Outcome of the Activity:
Students will create a science project that follows the scientific method, and will be judged on their question/proposal, method/testing and design, results, and conclusion/report.
