Adventure Science Center Engineering Day

Program Description:
Saturday, Feb. 25 | 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

From robotics to rocketry and radio communications, the 15th annual Engineering Day will provide hands-on opportunities to learn about different aspects of the engineering design process from local engineers and explore exciting student STEM projects while gaining a better understanding of concepts used in the field.

Special Activities:
•Out-of-this-world Engineering
Discover how engineering, robotics and space exploration work together with the Middle Tennessee Space Society, Fisk University and Vanderbilt University.
•Radio Waves
Learn more about what goes into radio programming with the Nashville Amateur Radio Club.
•Structurally Sound
Explore what goes into engineering and traffic control, bridge building and building structures with the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), T Square Engineering and more!
•Dome Construction
Learn how to build your own dome for shelters, greenhouses and more with Zip Tie Domes.
•Parachute Workshop
Design, build and test your own parachute with Nashville State Community College.
•Hovercraft, Amusement Park Physics & More
Check out the hovercraft built by Adventure Science Center, discover how physics plays into amusement park rides, and more!

•MTRAS Monthly Meeting
10 a.m. to noon
The Middle Tennessee Robotics Arts Society (MTRAS) invites visitors to join their members for their monthly meeting where they will be showcasing some of their current projects.
•Engineered for Destruction
12:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Enjoy a showcase of MTRAS robot fights! Robot weigh-in and safety check begins at 12:30 p.m., with fight rounds beginning at 1:30, 2:15 and 3 p.m. Rounds last roughly 30 minutes.
•3D Printing 101 Labs in I2
10:15 a.m. & 1:15 p.m.
Step into our new Innovation Incubator to learn more about 3D printing technologies and design your own smartphone dock! Lab fee
